Elizabeth Lazarus is a licensed psychotherapist who worked for eight years as a school counselor and was the 1988 Colorado Junior High Counselor of the Year. In private practice since 1990, she works with adolescents and adults in individual and group therapy. She also teaches parenting and conflict resolution classes.
Therapy is a tool for discovery.Therapy provides a safe and supportive atmosphere in which to confront various issues. Elizabeth's techniques focus on discovering what patterns block her clients from living the life they want and what patterns affect their behavior in ways they dislike.
Therapy is a risk.To take a risk means stepping into unknown territory. To take a risk adds depth to a person's knowledge and provides a foundation on which to improve one's life.
The fear of change.Elizabeth works with her clients to give them the confidence to tackle the components of change and to develop that change to its greatest potential.
Elizabeth's expertise in individual therapy includes transitions, self-discovery, inner child, grief/loss and sexual assault. Her classes and groups include conflict resolution for parents and children, "Parents: Here Comes Adolescence," teen-age sexual assault groups, children of divorce groups and gifted children groups.
