Dr. Jake Fratkin has been practicing acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine for over 16 years. He feels that illnesses and disorders are due to distortions in the body's energetic network or in organ dysfunction.
Dr. Fratkin was trained in Korean, Japanese and Chinese systems of acupuncture. Japanese acupuncture, a technique not commonly practiced in the United States, uses extremely thin needles to correct underlying channel imbalances. Japanese acupuncture is known for its painless needle technique and effectiveness in improving one's health.
Nogier Auriculotherapy treats acupuncture points on the ear without needles, using a mild electro-stim device. It is particularly useful for pain control.
Chinese herbal medicine and nutritional medicine regulate organ function, improve circulation, boost the immune system and enhance systemic detoxification. Cranial-sacral therapy, qi gong hand healing and tui na Chinese massage balance the body's energy patterns and connective tissue distortions.

Dr. Fratkin is a recognized authority on Chinese herbal therapy and is the author of the standard reference on Chinese herbal patent medicines. He was chairman of the department of herbal medicine at Images Southwest Acupuncture College in Santa Fe and chairman of Chinese medicine at John Bastyr College of Naturopathic Medicine in Seattle. He is nationally board-certified in both acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine.
