Judy LaBuda and Don Goulart have built a successful law practice on the foundation of many years of experience in their respective fields.
Judy LaBuda has combined her law degree with a master's degree in rehabilitation counseling psychology. She brings 12 years of counseling and administrative experience to the practice, including five years of service as rehabilitation director for IntraCorp, the largest private national rehab company in the United States. In recognition of her expertise, Judy has been asked on numerous occasions to testify in both state and federal courts as an expert witness in the field of rehabilitation. As an attorney, she specializes in family law, disabilibrelated law (ADA, personal injury, social security disability, etc.), employment law and elder law. She is also co-chair of the Employment Law Section of the Boulder Bar Association.
Prior to entering the legal profession, Don Goulart worked as a general contractor and developer in the Boulder area for 13 years. As Don explains, this experience has proven to be invaluable in helping him understand his clients' needs: "I know about working with construction and real estate contracts, and I'm familiar with the pitfalls and problems commonly encountered by different kinds of businesses. Because I understand the construction industry, can read plans and specifications, and have worked as a consultant to various businesses, my clients don't have to spend hours explaining their construction or business problems to me."
In partnership, Judy and Don are supported by a strong staff of paralegals and law clerks who work closely with them to keep things running smoothly. In addition to helping minimize legal costs, their staff assists in offering support to clients and in keeping them informed of the progress of their cases. "We give a lot of personal attention to our clients," Judy says. Almost everyone who walks through our door is going through some kind of emotional turmoil. We strive to be understanding and make them feel as comfortable as possible."
